This map represents Immigration flow into the USA during 2007 and was made for The University of West Florida's Cartography class, GIS3015. The map was created in ArcMap with flow lines and fine tuning completed with Adobe Illustrator. I am not as pleased with this output as I have been with some of my other maps. I decided to separate the regions in ArcMap so they could be grouped around the USA. I think it was easier for me to make my flow lines that way. I also wanted to emphasize the US to show the top states where immigrants migrated to but the states file was one boundary. Because I enlarged the US, I used two different scales. What is protocol for using multiple scales? Should I include a scale bar and text for each different level? I also decided to use a standard legend to label the regions and included the migration flow numbers directly on the map. Not my finest but how do you think I did?
